Malinda Baer of Randolph gets perfect score on ACT

Malinda Baer is ranked eighth in her class of 199 students at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron.

She is the daughter of Mark and Karrie Baer of Randolph. Malinda scored a perfect 36 on the ACT test. Less than one-10th of one percent of students taking the test achieved a perfect score.

She is a 2014 National Merit Scholarship Corporation finalist and a member of the Archbishop Hoban High School Academic Hall of Honor.

Her scholarships include The Ohio State University Maximus Scholarship, the Ohio State University Morrill Excellence Scholarship; the National Merit Academic Excellence Scholarship from the University of Texas at Dallas, and the Carnegie Mellon Merit Scholarship.

Malinda will be attending either the Ohio State University or Carnegie Mellon University and will study physics.

Malinda's clubs and activities include Academic Challenge 9, 10, 11, 12; Choir 10; Comedy at the Castle 10; Creative Writing Club 12; Fall Play 11,12; Harry Potter Club 12; Knitting Club 12; Mock Trial 10, 11; Music Ministry 9, 10, 11; Musical 9, 10, 11, 12; National Honor Society 11, 12; National Coalition Building Institute 10; Pep Band 12; Revolutionary War Day 12; Robotics 9; Scholastic Honors 9, 10, 11, 12; Stage Crew 12; Track 9, 10, 11, 12; and Troubadours 9, 10, 11, 12.
