Coit family history to be meeting topic

Published:

The Shalersville Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the museum, on S.R. 44 just north of the former Shalersville School.

Jack Ferguson, whose mother was Hazel Coit Ferguson, will share his knowledge about the Coit family and how Coit Road in Shalersville Township got its name. He also will bring his books of Coit family photographs including pictures of the brick home and barns (no longer standing) at the corner of S.R. 303 and Coit Road.

This presentation is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served after the meeting.
