The Summer Reading Program for children and youth is under way at Aurora Memorial Library.

The six-week program for youngsters entering kindergarten through fifth grade provides encouragement for kids to read at least 15 minutes each day, log their reading time and get together at 1:30 p.m. each Tuesday.

The final event of the program will be held on June 27, featuring local author Tricia Springstubb, Jungle Terry, a magician, a mime and a "storigami" artist.

The Aurora Library Trust is providing the financial support for bringing in most of these presenters, although the Friends of the Aurora Memorial Library are providing funding for one of the performers, as well as for materials such as reading logs and prizes.
