Boy Scout Troop No. 475 of the United Methodist Church of Streetsboro will embark on a week-long summer camp adventure on June 15 at Camp Powhatan in the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation.

Located in Pulaski County, Virginia, the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation encompasses 17,500 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Twenty-two Scouts and six adult Scouters from Troop No. 475 will participate in Camp Powhatan Base Camp and New River Adventure programs, which include multiple merit badge opportunities, tent camping, swimming, hiking, class V whitewater rafting, whitewater canoeing, ATV, natural rock climbing in the New River Gorge, caving, and many other activities.

Blue Ridge Scout Reservation also offers a C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) course which helps Scouts work on teamwork, communication, trust, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and self-esteem.

Troop No. 475's adventure is made possible by contributions of families, businesses and community members, hard work and fundraising efforts of the Scouts, and the support of Streetsboro United Methodist Church.

Troop No. 475 is chartered by Streetsboro United Methodist Church, and is a member of the Seneca District of the Great Trail Council of Boy Scouts of America.
