About 50 people were in attendance at the celebration honoring the golden wedding anniversary of Paul and Rose Textor of Bellingham, Wash. The event, hosted by the couple's daughters, was held May 21, 2017, at Assumption Church in Bellingham and the couple received a blessing from the Rev. Scott. Connolly.

Special guests were their daughter and son-in-law from Glendale, Ariz.

Their children and their spouses are Linda and Brent Philipp of Glendale, Ariz., Nancy and Dan Smith of Bellingham and Mike Textor and Robert and Tammy Textor, all of Akron. The Textors have two grandchildren.

Paul Textor and Rose Pero were married on May 20, 1967, at St. Joseph Church in Randolph by Rose's cousin, the Rev. Timothy Chenevey.

Paul worked as an electrician for 45 years, mainly at Keller Electric in Streetsboro and then at Thompson Electric in Munroe Falls, from which he retired in 1997.

When they retired, the Textors moved to Gilbert, Ariz., to be near their daughters and other relatives.

While there, they traveled to Russia, New Zealand and Australia. They then moved to Meridian, Idaho. They did several river cruises in Europe and the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon.

After that, they traveled to Ireland, Japan and Rome and many trips through Canada. They cruised to the Riviera in Mexico and had a trip to Copper Canyon, also in Mexico.

They also went to Hawaii and did the inside passage to Alaska. Through the local senior center in Bellingham, they cruised through the Panama Canal and later took another cruise to Anchorage, Alaska, to see Denali National Park. They have traveled through every state in the U.S.

Paul is a member of the Knights of Columbus and Rose is a member of the Catholic Daughters.
