Ruth and Glenn Saltzman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 9. They were married in a military ceremony in Findlay, after which they lived in Florida and California, while Glenn served in the U.S. Navy.
Ruth's career was in nursing and most of her professional career was at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna and with the Kent Visiting Nurses as a hospice nurse.
Glenn spent a majority of his 44-year career at Kent State University and the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, where he was a charter faculty member. Glenn also retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve as a captain.
The Saltzmans are parents to four children: Jeff (Sally); Jay; Jill; and Jon (1962-1980); and four grandsons: Dan (Krystal); Andrew; Connor; and Austin (Kayla).
The Saltzmans have visited all 50 states and 31 countries, many of those with their grandchildren.
They remain active in their community because they love Kent and its many people. They reside in Twin Lakes with their dog, Harold.
