Pioneer women, hardships to be topic

The Freedom Township Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. July 11 at the Freedom Community Center, 8940 S.R. 700. The Community Center is completely handicapped accessible.

The program features Claudia Garrett, Freedom Township Historical Society vice president, who will talk about the early settlers of Freedom with a special focus on the pioneer women and the hardships they faced.

There also will be Fourth of July-themed refreshments followed by a business meeting.

The meetings are open to all who are interested in the history of Freedom Township.
