Free programs slated at Newton Falls Library

The Newton Falls Public Library offers free programs and events.

This summer, the library will be participating in USDA Summer Food Service from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Free meals are offered to ages 1 through 18. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Contact the library for more information.

Babies from 6 to 36 months and their caregivers can enjoy short stories, music, and interactive activities at Baby Bugs on Wednesdays at 11:15 a.m. Call or visit the library to register.

Story time, for ages 2 1/2-5, is at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesdays. There will be stories, games, and music. Call or visit the library to register.

Summer Reading Club will have different activities for students entering grades kindergarten through six every Wednesday at 2 p.m. No registration is required.

Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., patrons may bring the whole family to learn about the values that build a better person at Family Story Time. The library staff will share stories and provide crafts and activities for different age levels. Call or visit the library to register. For ages 2 1/2 to 12.

Students entering kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome at Garden Club, Mondays at 10:30 a.m. on July 24 and 31. (The club will not meet July 17.) Students may join in for stories and activities about gardens as well as a chance to work in and harvest from the library garden. Those attending should arrive dressed to work in the dirt. The program will be cancelled in the event of bad weather, so call or visit the library to register.

At 2 p.m. on Mission Science Mondays, students entering grades four through eight can try out some real tech toys, from programmable robots to game design apps. Learn circuits, coding, and engineering. Call or visit the library to register. This program is made possible by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

An adult book discussion with refreshments will be held at 6 p.m. July 27. The group will discuss "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. Copies are available through CLEVNET. It isn't necessary to finish the book to attend.

Newton Falls Public Library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and closed Sunday.
