Garrettsville — A driver struck and broke a telephone pole on Saturday morning on S.R. 305 in Garrettsville, causing live electrical wires to fall on the roadway.

The Ravenna Post of Ohio State Highway Patrol said they received a call for the crash around 8 a.m. The driver was no longer at the scene when they arrived, according to the Ravenna post.

The Ravenna Post said they had to call Ohio Edison to clean up and remove the electrical wires from the road. As a result S.R. 305 between Parkman Road and S.R. 282 was closed for about five hours due to the crash. The road was reopened by late Saturday afternoon.

The Ravenna Post said troopers were still trying to locate the driver and the investigation is ongoing.
