And lows tonight could hit record levels in the 50s, forecasters said.

An approaching high pressure system will produce sunny skies on Wednesday while temperatures continue to be unseasonably cool, in the 70s.

Low pressure moving into the area could cause showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night and Thursday.

The record-high temperature for this date at the Columbus weather station was 103 degrees in 1918 while the record low was 46 in 1951. Sunset tonight will be at 8:42 p.m. and sunrise Wednesday at 6:35 a.m.
