Forecasters said temperatures in the area could dip

Forecasters said temperatures in the area could dip into the mid-30s under clear skies. Readings in the south likely will stay in the 40s.

Temperatures will rebound Thursday under the influence of a high pressure system. Southerly winds will produce temperatures in the 60s.

Fair skies and a slight warming trend are predicted for the weekend.

The record-high temperature for this date at the Columbus weather

station was 89 degrees in 1952 while the record low was 30 in 1899.

Sunset tonight will be at 7:14 p.m. and sunrise Thursday at 7:29

a.m.
