Scattered showers and thunderstorms that were to begin in the western counties during the late afternoon will reach the eastern counties after midnight.

The cold front will sweep across the state by Tuesday morning, with showers and scattered thunderstorms ending by morning in the east.

Lows tonight will range from the middle 40s over the northwest to around 60 in the extreme east.

Expect partly to mostly sunny skies over the west on Tuesday. In the east, showers will end in the morning and clouds will begin decreasing. Highs will be in the 50s.

The record high temperature for this date at the Columbus weather station was 85, set in 1969. The record low of 28 was set in 1988.

Sunset today will be at 6:55 p.m. Sunrise on Tuesday will be at 7:41 a.m.
