Michael E. Stierl, 46, and his wife, Cindy J. Stierl, 44, both of Ravenna, were charged with manufacturing drugs, a second-degree felony, possession of drugs, a second-degree felony and possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
Daryl Withrow, 29, of Akron, was charged with possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, according to police.
Brimfield Police Chief Robert Burgess said that members of the Brimfield police, Western Portage Drug Task Force and Cuyahoga Falls Narcotics Unit pursued information regarding the manufacture of the drug and joined in an investigation which led them to Knight's Inn on S.R. 43 at about 11 a.m.
Inside a room at the hotel, agents found equipment and ingredients necessary to manufacture crystal methamphetamine, a powdered stimulant which can keep a user awake for days at a time.
Chemicals used to make the drug, which are extremely flammable and explosive, were seized by agents.
The three suspects were in possession of methamphetamine when agents entered the room, Burgess said. They had occupied the hotel room for about one week.
Authorities are still investigating.
