Record-Courier staff report

The 5th Annual Gene P. DeAngelis/Ronald O. Starks Memorial Fundraiser Basketball game has been scheduled for Nov. 23 at the Ravenna High School, with the game benefitting a pair of scholarships that will be awarded to at least two Ravenna High School senior student-athletes at the end of the 2013 school year.

Through the past four years of the basketball game fundraiser, scholarship money awarded has totaled $5,000 to deserving RHS students.

This year's event will begin at 5:30 p.m., when former alumni varsity basketball players hit the floor, then the night will feature a special appearance by the Brown Middle School boys seventh and eighth grade teams playing at 6:30 p.m.

The showcase game of the night will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the returning Class of 2007 team playing against this year's edition of the Ravens boys varsity basketball team.

The game has turned into a thriller the previous four years and is a fun-filled evening that supports a great cause.

The night will include concessions, prizes, silent auction baskets, 50-50 raffle, along with performances by the high school's band and cheerleaders. Donation for this event for the evening is $2 for students and $4 for adult.
