Two people, including the estranged wife of the alleged victim, have been arrested and charged with the murder of a Windham man found dead in his home on Thanksgiving.
Portage County Sheriff David Doak said detectives were called to 9302 W. Center St. in Windham to assist Windham police in the investigation into the death of Blake A. Wolfe, 37, a resident of that address.
Investigators suspected foul play, and processed the alleged crime scene along with agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, Doak said.
Early Friday morning, detectives arrested Thomas W. Walters, 42, of 3153 Polly Road, Shalersville, and Traci Y. Wolfe, 40, of 10540 Oak St., Paris and charged them with aggravated murder, an unclassified felony, according to Doak.
Walters and Traci Wolfe are being held without bond in the Portage County jail, Doak said. They will be arraigned Monday in Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna.
Windham Police Chief Gene Fixler said his officers and sheriff's investigators worked well together to investigate, make the arrests and close the case.
"It's all about teamwork," he said.
The investigation into Blake Wolfe's death is ongoing and the cause of death has yet to be determined, according to the sheriff's office. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today at the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office in Akron.
