Bio-Med Science Academy, a year-round public high school located on the campus of Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, has scheduled information sessions for students and parents who wish to learn more about the school and fall 2013 admission procedures for incoming freshmen.

Information sessions will take place in Meshel Hall on the NEOMED campus and will be held at 7 pm. Thursday and again on Jan. 7.

Bio-Med Science Academy is a tuition-free public STEM+M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine) academy that is open to any student in Ohio, but was developed to serve students primarily from rural communities in Portage County and other surrounding counties.

A year-round school, the academy's course themes are based on current trends in science and medicine as well as the research and education being conducted at NEOMED.

The academy will be accepting applications from incoming ninth-grade students beginning in January. Up to 100 students will be accepted into the fall 2013 ninth-grade class.

To register for one of the information sessions, visit www.biomedscienceacademy.org or call 330-325-6186.
