Ravenna Chamber to host elected officials

By Diane Smith | Staff Writer Published:

For the third year, the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the area's elected officials for breakfast.

The breakfast, set for 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 24 at the Ravenna Elks Club, will include speakers from the city, township, county and state level, said Jack Ferguson, executive director of the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce.

Speakers will include Ravenna Mayor Joseph Bica, Ravenna Township Trustee Vince Coia, State Rep. Kathleen Clyde and a representative of the Portage County Board of Commissioners.

Ferguson said the officials will likely give facts and figures about "where we were last year and this year, and what the future looks like."

Cost is $10, and the event will raise money for the chamber's general fund.

Ferguson said last year's breakfast was well-attended, drawing more than 150 people to the Elks Club.

Tickets will be available at the door, but RSVPs are requested by Jan. 17. To register, call the chamber office at 330-296-3886.
