Portage Community Bank has set up a fund for the family at both its Kent and Ravenna branches. Those interested in donating should ask for the O'Neill Fund.

The family of three that lives at the house in the 400 block of South Diamond Street was not home at the time of the fire early Saturday morning. The house is believed to be a total loss.

Shae and Emily O'Neill and their 2-year-old daughter arrived home just as the call came into the fire department, firefighters said.

The blaze is still under investigation by the Ravenna Fire Department.

Delinda Walden, customer service representative for the bank, said the family has an account at the bank, and all donations will be donated directly to the account, which the bank keeping records of the names and addresses of all donors. The bank set up the fund after several customers inquired about donating.

She said the family, who is staying with other relatives in Ravenna, stopped in recently to thank the bank for its efforts.

"They lost everything," she said. "They had all their presents wrapped and they lost them, and they lost three dogs that they were very close to. But they said the support of Ravenna has just been unbelievable."
