A Freedom couple who pleaded guilty to reduced charges after having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl recently were sentenced to a mixture of jail time, probation and fines.
Matthew P. Bradley, 21, and Raven K. Delong, 20, both of 6251 Vair Road, recently learned their sentences from Judge Laurie Pittman. They pleaded guilty in November, to one count each of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, both first-degree misdemeanors. That also meant they avoided future sex offender registration.
Bradley was sentenced to 178 days in the Portage County jail, with work release privileges and credit for two days already served, and fined $1,000. Pittman suspended $700 of the fine on the condition Bradley spend two years on probation and have no contact with the victim until she turns 18.
Delong was sentenced to 180 days in the Portage County jail and $1,000 in fines, with all of the jail term and $750 of the fine suspended on the conditions she serve two years on probation, complete 36 hours of community service within six months and have no contact with the victim for two years.
The couple was indicted in September on four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor for having sexual contact with the then 15-year-old victim several times between May 2011 and April 2012.
