Four weather-related crashes snarled traffic on S.R. 43 and caused a brief power outage in Streetsboro Thursday morning, according to Streetsboro police. The first in a series of three crashes occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. in the "S curves" on S.R. 43 south of S.R. 14, police said. Police Lt. Darin Powers said an officer was out investigating the first crash when a second, more serious wreck took place. That one resulted in a motorist being transported to an area hospital by paramedics, he said. A third crash then followed as traffic behind the first two wrecks slowed down, Powers said. A fourth crash that occurred at S.R. 303 and Jefferson Street at about 10 a.m. also was weather-related, Powers said. A driver attempted to make a turn onto Jefferson from S.R. 303 and went off the side of the road. Her car overturned, hitting utility pole guy wires as it did, Powers said. The driver was not injured in the crash, he said, which caused a brief power outage in the city.
