Ravenna to offer online registration for some recreation programs

Ravenna parents can now register their children for some recreation programs from the comfort of their homes.

The city recently revamped its website to allow online registration for some programs. Although online registration is not available for all of them, residents can see information about all of them online, said Elaine VanHoose, parks and recreation director.

Residents can find the site on the city's website, www.ci.ravenna.oh.us by clicking on the departments tab. Under departments, they should scroll down to Parks and Recreation. When hovering over that, they will see several options, including

the programs tab.

Clicking on that tab will take visitors to Ravenna's site on active.com.

The website, which went live Jan. 1, replaces the paper brochure, which will no longer be printed.

Residents may sign up for an account and view activities. The database is searchable by age group, location and activity type.

Some programs allow online registration, while others direct people to the office, but all include details such as cost and practice times. People must pay by credit card online, but can pay by cash or check in person.
