A Rootstown man has pleaded guilty to two felony charges for having sexual contact with underage girls and showing them obscene material over the span of a year between 2011 and 2012.
Erik D. Weber, 19, of 4797 Scenic Drive pleaded guilty Monday, Feb. 4, to one count each of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a fifth-degree felony.
Portage County Common Pleas Judge John Enlow accepted the plea and ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Weber faces mandatory sex offender registration, a minimum of probation or up to two-and-a-half years in prison. He remains free on bond pending sentencing.
Weber was indicted in November 2012 by a Portage County grand jury on 10 felony charges after he engaged in sexual conduct with two teenage girls, then ages 14 and 15, between September 2011 and October 2012 and provided or showed pornography to three juvenile females during that same time period, according to his indictment.
The charges arose out of a Portage County Sheriff's Office investigation.
