Ravenna chamber hosting luncheon

By Diane Smith | Staff Writer Published:

The Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce is mixing up its networking events by offering a luncheon to members.

The luncheon, which will be held at 11:30 a.m. March 7 at the English Pub & Bistro in Ravenna.

The deadline to RSVP is today.

The event will be in place of the chamber's regular coffee networking event, typically held the first Thursday morning of every month. The chamber's coffee events will return to Suzy K's Cafe in April.

The speaker, Debra Petrone of Schlabig and Associates, will speak on "American Tax Relief of 2012 -- an Overview." Cost is $11.

Jack Ferguson, executive director of the chamber, said the event has been well received.

"So far, the response has been great," he said. "We usually have eight to 10 people at our coffee networking events. We've got 25 RSVPs so far."

The event will accommodate about 65 attendees but all are asked to contact the chamber at 330-296-3886 to register.

Ferguson said Petrone will speak about taxes because chamber leadership thought it was an appropriate topic for businesses during tax season.

Ferguson said he expects the luncheons to be held quarterly, with the next one planned for June.

"We're looking forward to having more of these as the year goes on," he said.
