Waterloo levy win certified, spread unchanged

The official vote spread on Waterloo School District's levy was 25 votes, unchanged from the preliminary count on election night.

The Portage County Board of Elections certified results of the Feb. 5 special election this past Tuesday. The official vote was 971 for and 946 against the 5.9-mill additional levy.

While the final count was unchanged from election night , the total ballots cast increased by 117 because of provisional and mail-in absentee ballots, according to election officials. That gave a 34.5 percent voter turnout, up from, the 32.4 percent in preliminary election night figures.
