Northeast Ohio Medical University will be hosting "Walk with a Doc" from 5:15-6:30 p.m. today in the Ralph Regula Conference and Event Center at NEOMED.
This event is being put on by student group OutReach, to encourage the community to bring some fun and fitness indoors. A NEOMED staff member is an instructor with the Leslie Sansone "Walk at Home" fitness program, and will be leading participants in a fun, two-mile 'walk' in the conference center.
Registration is at 5:15 p.m. and the program begins at 5:30. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring water and a towel.
Walking is one of the best forms of exercise as it helps with weight loss and reverses the effects of dozens of diseases, including arthritis, depression, diabetes, heart attack and stroke. It's also good for people of all ages with varying degrees of physical strength.
