ALICE safety program explained at event in Ravenna on Tuesday

Published:

The REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition is offering a program explaining the ALICE emergency plan being instituted in many local schools and public places during a program at 7 p.m. March 19 at Maplewood Career Center, 7075 S.R. 88 in Ravenna. The event is not recommended for children.

According to REALIZE FAC, ALICE -- which stands for " Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Escape" -- is designed to supplement current procedures used in our public institutions as a stand-alone defense strategy for an extremely violent attack. Participants will be provided instruction on key components of an organized and thoughtful plan with emphasis on survival strategies.
