Help available for prescription medicine payment

Published:

The Medication Assistance Program, a program of Family and Community Services, Inc., assists qualifying individuals to apply for free or low-cost prescriptions needed for long-term or chronic conditions.

If medication costs are creating financial hardships, if you do not have insurance coverage, or have a low income, MAP may be able to help by connecting you to a pharmaceutical company's prescription assistance program. There are no age requirements (antibiotics, pain medications, and controlled substances are excluded).

For questions about Medicare or Part D coverage, appointments are available on April 3 at the F&CS Kent office, 135. E. Erie St.

To schedule an appointment or for further information, call the MAP office at 330-297-8770.
