Brimfield police make 25 arrests at nuisance party

Record-Courier staff report Published:

A loud party in Brimfield featuring high school-age children, underage drinking and a fight ended Saturday night with police arresting 25 partygoers on various charges.

Brimfield Police Capt. Christopher Adkins said on the department's Facebook page that officers from the department's afternoon and midnight shifts responded to a report of a loud party involving a fight on Saturday.

Twenty-five people were arrested on charges including tampering with evidence, cultivation of marijuana, underage drinking, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, he said.

An adult was charged with multiple counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allegedly hosting the party and providing alcohol to minors. One man was held after police found he had a warrant in Oklahoma for forgery, according to police.

The Kent Police Department assisted Brimfield by sending an officer with a prisoner transport vehicle to handle the additional arrestees, Adkins said.

Additional information was not immediately available Sunday.
