City opens fitness center in Kent

Kent city officials and the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce joined in a ribbon cutting for the Kent Parks & Recreation Department's fitness center at 1205 W. Main St. Among those taking part were, from left, with scissors, Kim Ball, Kent parks board member; John Idone, Kent parks director; Nancy Pizzino, recreation supervisor; Mayor Jerry Fiala; Terri Armstrong, fitness supervisor; Councilman Wayne Wilson; and Lori Wemhoff, executive director of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce. The new facility is located in a storefront that formerly housed TLC Liquor. The ribbon cutting took place Wednesday.
