Kent seeks helpers for Cuyahoga River cleanup

The city of Kent is seeking volunteers to help with its annual Cuyahoga River cleanup, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 17.

The launch point will be at Tannery Park and city staff and volunteers will exit the river just north of the Middlebury Road Bridge.

Eric Gorczynski, an environmental technician for Kent, said volunteers can RSVP by emailing him at gorczynski@kent-ohio.org or by calling 330-678-8108.

"Anyone that wishes to bring or provide canoes, kayaks, row boats or any other contributions are more than welcome to do so. Your generosity is greatly appreciated," he said. "Please remember to bring work gloves, sun screen, a light snack, water and shoes capable of providing protection from rocks or debris."
