A Brimfield man is facing a felony charge that he drugged a victim in order to sexually assault the person inside a Franklin Township apartment late last month.
Anthony D. McClintick, 18, of 491 Roland Hills Drive, was arrested Aug. 6 and charged with rape, a first-degree felony, by the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Portage County Municipal Court, McClintick allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with an adult victim -- who is not his spouse and does not live with him -- inside an apartment in the 6800 block of Alpha Drive in the Campus Pointe apartment complex on July 21.
The complaint alleges that McClintick "substantially impair(ed) the alleged victim's judgment or control by administering" drugs or alcohol without the victim's knowledge or against the victim's will.
Following his arraignment, McClintick is free on $10,000 bond on the conditions he not consume or possess alcohol and have no contact with the complaining witnesses, according to court records.
Additional charges are possible once the case is presented to a Portage County grand jury.
