Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar is going to partner with Northfield Park/Hard Rock International for a restaurant at the Northfield Park racino, which will be called Kosar's Wood-Fired Grill.
He spoke to a crowd of VIPs and local officials Thursday morning at the topping-off ceremony for the racino at Northfield Park. The racino is expected to open in December.
"Growing up a Browns fan, it was my dream to have him be part of it," said Brock Milstein, Northfield Park and Milstein Entertainment CEO and chairman. "I look forward to telling his story. He really had an impact on Northeast Ohio."
The racino is will create about 700 jobs, in addition to the 300 jobs created by construction, said Jon Lucas, president of Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park.
In addition to Kosar's Wood-Fired Grill, the racino will also include a comedy club, 2,000 seat theater, Hard Rock Café and a buffet, said the Northfield Village Mayor Jesse Nehez.
"When I found out about the project, I thought to myself, 'Is this really happening?'" Nehez said. "I've had such a sense of excitement. It's unbelievable."
