The Stow Post Office was open for business Monday after a Hudson woman crashed her car into the building's lobby two days earlier.
"It mainly took out the front door," said Postal Service spokesperson David Van Allen.
According to a press release from Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker, the 50-year-old woman drove a 2009 Toyota Camry into the lobby of thepost office at at 3900 Darrow Road at 11:45 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle went through the front doors of the Post Office and into the front lobby, injuring a 51-year-old Stow woman.
Van Allen said a woman inside the post office was "pinned against the post boxes."
Dirker said the driver of the vehicle was taken to the Emergency Room at Akron General Medical Center in Stow.
The accident is under investigation.
Van Allen said it is unclear when repairs would be completed. "I don't have a projected date, but it shouldn't be long," he said. "Whatever is done, it's fixed well enough that we can use it."
