The Portage County Health Department, is holding three community flu shot clinics this week.
Everyone 6 months and older should be vaccinated, according to recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Pregnant women, people with chronic medical conditions and children younger than 5 years of age are especially recommended for vaccination.
Schedule of Community Clinics
Today: Garrettsville, James A. Garfield Elementary, 10207 S.R. 88, 4 to 6 p.m.
Thursday: Brimfield Town Hall, 1333 Tallmadge Road, 4 to 6 p.m.
Saturday: Windham Renaissance Family Center, 9005 Wilverne Drive, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All clinics are walk-in, no appointment necessary. Cost is $10 for children and $20 for adults. Medicaid, Buckeye, Care Source, United Health, and Medicare Part B (as primary insurance) are accepted.
Nasal flu vaccine is available for children ages 2 to 18.
High dose flu vaccine is available for adults 65 years and older for $45. Medicare Part B as primary insurance is accepted.
