The Kent Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting recently to welcome Troy Grille to downtown Kent. Located at 118 E. Main St., the Mediterranean-cuisine restaurant is owned by Eser Kalkavan, who was surrounded by family, friends, Mayor Jerry Fiala, landlord Bill Arthur, and members of the KACC to celebrate. In addition to those in attendance, her parents in Turkey were watching the event via Skype. "I'm pretty sure that's a first -- a KACC ribbon-cutting going international," said Lori Wemhoff, chamber executive director. Kalkavan stressed that everything is made to order and from scratch, seven days a week. "We believe that everything should be made fresh and hope that people don't mind waiting a few extra minutes for their order," said Kalkavan.
