Some streets in downtown Kent will be closed or have changes in traffic patterns Saturday because of Robinson Memorial Hospital's annual fundraising event, the Robinson Gala, which is expected to draw an estimated 500 people.
East Erie Street, located between Haymaker Parkway (S.R. 59) and South DePeyster Street in downtown, will be closed during the dinner, which will be held in a tent on Erie Street.
City officials advise motorists to look out for changes in traffic patterns between 3 and 11 p.m. on South DePeyster Street, between Haymaker Parkway and East Main Street, and on East Erie Street up to South Water Street.
The road closure and temporary changes in traffic movement patterns will be marked.
Police officers and other department staff members will be working in the area during the event to address any issues that develop.
