As daylight dwindles with the season, the pace of work on area roads continues.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation's weekly report, S.R. 225 just south of Yale Road is closed through late October for bridge repairs. The detour is I-76 to S.R. 14 until further notice.
And, the following routes have various lane restrictions for resurfacing:
S.R. 14 between Tallmadge Road and S.R. 225;
S.R. 183 between S.R. 14 and U.S. 224.
This work is part of a $1.9 million project to resurface S.R. 14 between S.R. 183 and S.R. 225 and S.R. 183 between Tallmadge Road and U.S. 224. The project also includes bridge and culvert repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early November.
In the village of Hiram, S.R. 82, a half mile south of S.R. 305, is closed for emergency culvert repairs through mid-December. The detour is S.R. 88 to S.R. 700
In southern Portage, motorists should be alert as paving continues on U.S. 224 in Suffield, Randolph and Atwater townships with various lane restrictions.
This work is part of a $5.7 million project to resurface U.S. 224 from the Summit County line to S.R. 183 in Atwater. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November.
