The Portage County Black Caucus has issued its endorsements for candidates and issues on the Nov. 5 ballot.
In Ravenna, Fred Berry and Amy Michael are endorsed for City Council at-large; Sharon Spencer, Ward 1; Frank Seman, Ward 2.
Deborah Davison and Joan Seman are endorsed for Ravenna Board of Education.
In Kent, Mayor Jerry Fiala is endorsed for re-election, and Doria Daniels and Roger Sidoti are endorsed for City Council at-large.
Brian Boykin and Marlene Dorsey are endorsed for Kent Board of Education.
In Ravenna Township, Patsy Artz and Vince Coia are endorsed for township trustee.
Misty Dulaney is endorsed for Rootstown Township trustee.
Judge Barbara Oswick is endorsed for Portage County Municipal Court judge.
The Caucus also endorses the following issues: Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 2-mill renewal tax levy; Kent city income tax, 0.25 percent increase; Ravenna, Streetsboro and Windham school levies.
The endorsements were announced by W. Frank Hairston, Portage County Black Caucus president.
