The Summit County Health Department was working with officials from the Woodridge Local School District on Thursday to address what was described on the district website as "a medical issue" at the middle school.
While declining to reveal specifics about the illness, Superintendent Walter Davis said it "is not meningitis, it is not an outbreak, and there is no medical emergency."
Woodridge Middle School was closed at 11:30 a.m. Thursday so it could be disinfected due to a student's illness, according to Davis.
Approximately 450 youngsters attend the school.
