Explosion in Boston Heights on Hines Hill Road

The Hudson-Hub Times is looking into reports of a gas well explosion near Hines Hills Road and Olde 8 Road in Boston Heights. According to the Richfield Police Twitter account, safety crews are on the scene of a "gas well explosion and fire."

According to Boston Heights Police, the Valley Fire District is on the scene about 200 yards west of the intersection.

No injuries have been reported.

Boston Heights Police Chief Raymond Heatwall confirmed a gas or oil line exploded, however it was unclear what caused the explosion. The scene is still active, according to Heatwall. The explosion was reported around 10 a.m.

An odor of gas could be smelled at Olde 8 and Hines Hill, according to a reporter on the scene.

Police have also blocked Hines Hill Road west of Olde 8.

Richfield Police's Twitter account reported that Hines Hill Rd between Olde Eight Road and Wooded View Road is the only road closed. Fire personnel are working on getting fire under control.
