Aurora man charged in child porn investigation

Staff report Published:

A 25-year-old Aurora man was indicted on four counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor Feb. 6 by a Portage County grand jury, Aurora police reported.

Daniel P. Doerrfeld also was charged by the grand jury with two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance. All charges are second-degree felonies.

The charges came down after Aurora officers, assisted by members of the Cuyahoga County Internet Crimes Against Children task force, served a search warrant Feb. 4 at 7:15 a.m. at Barrington Place East.

The search warrant resulted from an ongoing investigation by ICAC member agencies and Aurora police into alleged distribution of child pornography, according to police.

Doerrfeld was taken to the Portage County Justice Center. The matter remains under investigation.
