Hoops with Heroes game set Saturday

Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School's DECA program is hosting the annual Hoops with Heroes charity basketball game Saturday.

The game will feature the Kent police, Kent fire, Ravenna fire and Kent State University police departments, and will begins at 5 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Attendance for the event costs $5 for adults and $3 for students, children and seniors.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Don Beckett Memorial Scholarship, dedicated to a Kent firefighter who lost a prolonged battle with cancer in 2011.

For the last two years, Kent Roosevelt DECA has organized and implemented this charity basketball game. Hoops with Heroes is a bracket style basketball tournament featuring the local police and fire departments.
