The Kent Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at Memorial Animal Hospital, commemorating the grand opening of the new 9,500-square-foot facility located at 2222 S.R. 59 in Franklin Township. The new facility sits next to the previous structure that dates nearly 60 years. Along with staff and chamber members to help celebrate the event were in front left to right, Franklin Township Trustee Gary Falstad, Dr. Theresa Heibel, owner, Jason Beutel, practice manager, Kent Mayor Jerry Fiala, Lori Wemhoff, Kent Area Chamber of Commerce executive director, and Bob Mayfield, Chamber board president. A public grand opening is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
