Kent, Ravenna warming centers open Wednesday

Published:

With a snowstorm and cold temperatures expected today, both the Center of Hope in Ravenna and Kent Social Services will be open as warming centers.

Anne Marie Mann-Noble, director of emergency outreach services for Family & Community Services, Inc., said the centers will be open for those in need.

The centers have been open several times this winter as below-zero temperatures battered Portage County. Mann-Noble said the extra operations have put a crimp in the centers' budgets and donations to offset the extra expense are welcome.
