Akron -- Former Abrams Drive resident Glenn Wong, 51, has been found guilty of aggravated murder and five related charges in the February 2013 stabbing death of his wife, Tami Mitchell Wong, following three days of emotional testimony from friends, family, safety workers and colleagues.

A Summit County Court of Common Pleas jury deliberated for just less than three hours before returning with the guilty verdicts. Wong, 51, was also found guilty of a second count of aggravated murder, one count of kidnapping, one count of murder, one count of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence in the matter.

Sentencing will be May 2 at 9 a.m. in Judge Paul Gallagher's court. The case was not eligible for the death penalty, and a life sentence could be imposed for the aggravated murder charge; Gallagher will determine the minimum time served before Wong is eligible for parole.

The defense, which never called a witness, never disputed that Glenn Wong caused 46-year-old Tami Mitchell Wong's death -- only that the crime was not premeditated. The prosecution contended that Glenn Wong's family life began to spiral downhill in the months before the murder, steeped in suspicion and jealousy over Glenn Wong's belief in extra-marital affair involving his wife of 11 years.

Bureau of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Dan Winterich on March 27 described a blood-soaked crime scene in which Tami Mitchell Wong suffered 103 knife wounds.

Jurors also heard testimony from the Wong children, a son, 9, and a daughter, 11, who were 8 and 10 and in the living room at the time of the stabbing, as well as friends and colleagues, who testified to a "controlling" Glenn Wong in their Wadsworth office.

Glenn Wong, an engineer by trade, sobbed uncontrollably during his children's testimony March 25 and when his wife's wounds were shown March 26. He reacted with little emotion when the verdict was read.
