(Ed. note: This article was corrected to indicate that the event will be held on Saturday, April 19 -- not Friday, as was previously reported.)
Volunteers are needed for a shoreline and roadside litter cleanup at West Branch State Park on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day.
Volunteers are asked to arrive at 9 a.m. at the park's west boat ramp on Rock Spring Road in Edinburg. The bridge on Rock Spring Road is under construction and participants will not be able to get to the boat ramp coming from the north.
Volunteers will be assigned to an area and should dress for the weather and bring gloves.
The three-hour cleanup will end at noon at the boat ramp's shelter house with a hot dog cookout and potluck-style lunch.
Each participant will receive a wild flower seed packet to take home with them.
For more information, call the park office at 330-654-4989 between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
