A Peninsula woman pleaded guilty April 1 to second-degree felony aggravated vehicular assault and misdemeanor operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in connection with a five-car crash on Graham Road last April.

According to Summit County Court of Common Pleas records, Common Pleas Judge Thomas Teodosio is scheduled to sentence 48-year-old Mary Ann Mervin April 30. She had been free on a 10 percent of $10,000 bond, but under house arrest until March 7 when the court granted a motion to remove the home incarceration requirement.

A Stow police officer saw Mervin's vehicle traveling left of center on Graham Road in Silver Lake at around 8:25 a.m. April 24.

The officer turned around to follow the vehicle when he saw a multi-car crash on Graham near Englewood Drive which included Mervin's vehicle, police said.

Stow Police and EMS units responded to the site, and motorists in the area were detoured. Two drivers, including Mervin, and three children were taken to area hospitals by Stow and Cuyahoga Falls EMS units. All were later released, police said.
