UPDATED: Portage TEA Party speaker to discuss U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

The Portage County TEA Party will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Maplewood Career Center, 7075 S.R. 88, Ravenna. The meeting will be highlighted with a presentation by Jeremiah Martin, the Northeast Ohio Coordinator for Concerned Veterans for America, who will discuss the recent deaths of veterans in Arizona and other states, as well as other problems with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He will explain what we as citizens can do to get Congress to take action to protect our veterans. Martin will discuss the purpose of HR 4031, which is scheduled to be voted on by Congress on Tuesday and the companion Senate Bill that are designed to give VA administrators the authority to make necessary changes. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
