Knife-wielding suspect sought in Twinsburg Speedway Gas Station robbery

Twinsburg -- The Summit County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance in identifying an individual responsible for a robbery in Twinsburg on June 8 at the Speedway Gas Station at 7966 Darrow Road.

At approximately 8:15 a.m., the suspect entered the Speedway, approached the counter and presented a large knife. He proceeded to demand cash and threatened to harm the cashier if she did not cooperate with his demands. The suspect fled the gas station when another employee emerged from a back room. The suspect fled northbound on Darrow Road in a white SUV.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20's, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and between 140 and 160 pounds and with dark hair.

The suspect may also be responsible for a robbery earlier on June 8 at the Circle K on North Mantua Street in Kent.

The robbery was caught on surveillance video.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the identity of the suspect should contact the Summit County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 330-643-2131. Anyone providing information leading to an arrest in this case may be eligible for an award through Summit County Crime Stoppers.
