Ohio State Patrol investigating fatal accident on Turnpike in Hudson

Hudson — The Hiram Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a June 12 roll-over accident which left one man dead on the Ohio Turnpike in Hudson.

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, the accident happened shortly after 11 a.m. near mile marker 181.

“The victim was traveling eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike, near mile marker 181 in Hudson, when he was involved in an accident with another vehicle,” according to a press release from the coroner’s office. “The victim’s vehicle rolled over and he was partially ejected.”

The victim, who was described as an “elderly male, was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to the coroner’s press release.

Officials are waiting for a positive identification and notification to the next-of-kin before releasing further details.
